of the joy of seeing her again...
i pray for her every night
she is the reason why i teach
so i can give back a little
of what i have received so much of from her
when i first heard the news, i was devastated
but 2 months have passed
and i saw her again today for the 1st time since her battle
i was THIS close to tears when i hugged her when i 1st saw her
so over a earl grey and a cafe mocha
she tells me about the support she gets from her family and those around her
and i tell her about my kids and school
and we (in her words) "talked shop" by refreshing my notion about how the ruling in Xpress Print was a deviation from Dalton v. Angus
and it was just like before again.

of the strange city that is Taipei...
it's been 10 yrs
since i last got lost
in a strange city,
strange people,
strange food,
strange streets
exploring the back alleys and malls
huge statues and monuments
travelling as far as their train system could take me.
havin a cuppa at the ever-present starbucks
at the end:
a torn and tattered city map marked with many circled visited spots
realizing how traffic in singapore isn't THAT crazy by comparison
a basket of memories
it was.. liberating
and i miss that.
