of the cbd at night...
one year on..
i've never stayed in the cbd till tis late
ok so it's not all that late, it's 9
but it's late enough
dark enough
and it was so pretty
a slight drizzle added to the whole surreal picture
so enchantingly disarming
the city sleeps
and i was enraptured, absorbed, given
the normal bustling of corporate whores replaced with the echos of my footsteps as i walk through the hallways
but yet, the concrete pillars and the glass doors still looked as familiar as they did in the day
and the empty streets were so eeriely beautiful
and i drove home,
with norah jones on the radio
and the little splashes of the puddles on the wet tarmac roads
then it hit me
i spend my days here,
in this city
in this cbd
but only with night,
did i fully realize
corny as it might sound -
that i do, belong here
