of the 4th race finale...



4 continents, 24 cities, and 44,000 miles... the married homosexuals Reichen and Chip went home with US$1 MIllion buckeroos... it was classic man.. the race down to the finish line with the rest of the teams cheering them on.. it was just like the other races, seems just like yesterday that flo and zach won the 3rd race... the sad thing was david and jeff were still stuck in hawaii when they opened the clue box and read the blue envelope that said "reichen and chip has crossed the finish line " that is just sad man, all cos they chose a wrong flight/airport...

Yes, it was a race to the finish, but strangely, for the biggest Amazing Race fan (me), it didnt invoke that same kinda emotion it did.. mebbe i need to watch the replay, just like i oni REALLY felt the race end when i watched the replay of when flo and zach won it the last time.. maybe.. maybe...

oh, and my god-sista vivien is gettin married.. jesus christ.... of all the people i know.. vivien..

i pray, that i will never have to be in such a situation again. Quite simply, if it ever comes down to
a) the jobs we do
b) the people that matter to us
I choose the people, it's always about the people.

of the 2nd last race update...



and then there were 3.... teams that is, david and jeff, kelly and jon, chip and reichen. have i already mentioned how much i hate kelly? i MUST have.. somewhere in the past updates about the race.. today was a non-elimination leg, (As with all 2nd last legs) so it wasnt that excitin at all... now NEXT week is the finale, and u will see the famous foot race to the finish line, with all previous teams there cheering them on...

if i were to measure time in real life by episodes of the Amazing Race, then this is the 4th time i'm watching a race finale, just like i'm in the 4th year of my university career, the next time i watch this, (IF there is a season 5, which i highly suspect so, since The Amazing Race is nominated for an emmy), i wld have graduated..

we all do won't we? measure where we stand in life by some kinda yardstick. How many times u countdown to the new year. How mani kittens your cat have. When u first started smoking, a pack of cigarettes was $3.60 and now it's $8.30. and we use these bookmarks to check out how far along we've all come.. and will go..

after helpin my fren raudy set up her blog here. i want to once again say for the record that hair SHOULD ONLY belong on the top of your head and on ur chin (if u are a man)... *looks at the pic and proceeds to throws up*

of the 4th rag day...










yesterday was NUS rag and flag... and I watched from behind the backdrop, my 4th and final abre rag dance as a student.. it was overwhelming really... it all came back to me.. when i was a freshman dancer..with andy and tommy and kira and lenny... and when i was watching behind the backdrop in 2001 as the rag head.. watching xena and grace and jessy and junqiang and kelvin shiyun and jolene, and and last year.. when i watched as my dancers led by jun qiang led their dancers- chong and jerry and siaojia and evon and wayne and vincent, into the performance... and now this...

I'm overjoyed because surely i must be one of those rare lucky bastards who can actually manage to live it this way.. to have the priviledge to live it to the max.. to see 4 year's rag.. and yet i'm saddened.. because this is the end of my rag journey.. I realized after i saw the dance as i was talkin to jun qiang.. that I came back year after year.. because rag touched me in so many ways.. and also because i was afraid that this tradition would die.. but as I watched the '03 abre rag dancers today.. i realized this would never happen... that this tradition would go on... and on...

It is an honor, to have been a part of this great tradition.. to have been a part of rag...

of the retrospect...

had this late night conversation with wayne and siaojia last nite.. and we were reminiscing about how rag was like for us... i now truly sincerely believe the saying that " the best things in life happens to us when we least expect it " with the least bit of planning... never would we have thought that sumthing we stumble upon on by accident would turn out to be probably one of the best experiences of our lives...

life is not without irony it seems.. that it's only upon retrospect that we learn how good we had it back then.. and we spend our days trying to recreate the same kind of experience for those who come after us, trying to let them see how good they are having.. and in the process.. in some little ways.. try and relive how it was like for us..

this friday, i will see my faculty's rag team perform on Rag day.. this will be the 4th and final rag dance i will see as a student... and when the dust settles.. i will carry off with me.. all these beautiful memries... of a time when i was much younger.. and having the time of my life...
